Job Description: Labor and Delivery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our dedicated team. This position will require you to provide exceptional care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of patient age groups, including infants, adolescents, and adults.

Shift Details:
- Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Every Third Weekend Requirement (weekends are considered Saturday and Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess antepartum, labor, and postpartum patients, providing individualized care and support.
- Utilize External Fetal Monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
- Perform a variety of antepartum procedures such as NST (Non-Stress Tests) and sterile vaginal exams.
- Administer medications including antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and Pitocin.
- Assist in the management of labor and delivery, including performing amnioinfusions, supporting high-risk deliveries, and circulating for C-sections.
- Provide neonatal care immediately following delivery, including APGAR assessments and patient identification.
- Conduct postpartum assessments and care, including fundus checks, wound care, and management of postpartum hemorrhage.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
- Valid state nursing license.
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP.
- Proficiency in Epic charting and experience with a medication system (e.g., Pyxis).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Patient Care Details:
- Patient Ratios: Antepartum 1:1-3; Labor and Delivery 1:1-2; OR 1:1.
- Daily Census: Antepartum 6-9; Labor and Delivery 12-16; total facility births/month: 200-300.
