Position Title: Geriatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)Shift: Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights | Every Other Weekend | 36 Hours/WeekUnit: Epstein 3 - Geriatric Psych UnitLocation: MassachusettsCertifications Required:Valid Massachusetts RN LicenseAHA BLS (Basic Life Support)Certification in De-escalation (AVADE training offered on-site)eth;#159;sect; Unit Overview:Epstein 3 is a Geriatric Psychiatric Inpatient Unit specializing in the treatment of older adults with complex psychiatric and co-occurring medical needs. The unit supports patients dealing with:Depression, anxiety, suicidal ideationSchizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorderDual diagnosis (mental health and substance use)Medically acute conditions such as diabetes, IV therapy, wound care, and CPAP managementeth;#159;#145;copy;#141;#154;#149;iuml;cedil;#143; Required Experience Skills:Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experienceProficient with psychotropic medications and management of side effectsCharge nurse experience or readiness to assume that roleAdmission discharge processes and documentationExperience with EPIC EMR and Omni Cell medication dispensingCompetence in:IV pump operationDiabetic patient careeth;#159;#145;yen; Patient Staffing Information:Patient Population: Geriatric adults with mental health and/or medical comorbiditiesRN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:7 or 1:8eth;#159; Schedule Shift Details:Shift rotation required for Day/Eve/Night schedule:7:00 AM - 7:00 PM11:00 AM - 11:00 PM7:00 PM - 7:00 AMNight Shift positions are fixed (no rotation)Every other weekend commitment requiredFloating may be required to similar psych unitseth;#159;#154; Preferred Knowledge:Massachusetts Department of Mental Health regulationsRestraint and seclusion rightsLegal statuses of patientsCourt-ordered medicationsLegal frameworks:GuardianshipHealthcare proxies (invoked vs. confirmed)
