LifePoint is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Hickory, North Carolina.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit on the day shift. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong critical thinking skills and a passion for delivering high-acuity cardiovascular care. The CVICU team manages complex cardiac cases, including post-operative patients recovering from advanced surgical and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-op CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid interventions.
- Interpret and respond to hemodynamic monitoring, EKGs, and other critical care data.
- Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced life support equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge planning.
- Accurately document all care provided in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Must-Have Skills Experience:
- Minimum 2 year of CVICU experience (post-orientation)
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations
Preferred Skills Experience:
- Additional CVICU or ICU experience
- Familiarity with common CVICU diagnoses and treatments: CABG, TAVR, STEMI, Carotid procedures
Education Certifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
- Current RN license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
- ACLS, BLS, CCRN preferred
