Job Description: NICU RN - Night Shift

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. This role is critical for providing exceptional care to our most vulnerable patients-newborns requiring specialized medical attention. The NICU operates with a capacity of 51 beds and provides advanced care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU setting.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patients conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Educate and support families regarding their newborns health and care needs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices.

Qualifications:
- Active RN license.
- NRP certification required; Stable and NIC-RNC certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Level III NICU experience is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with healthcare teams and family members.

Additional Information:
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4
- Equipment: EMR - Cerner
- Typical Procedures: NICU care management, IV therapy, and various neonatal assessments.

Unit Details:
- Number of Beds: 51
- Night Shift Staff: 18 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 2 Respiratory Therapists
- Floating Areas: Pediatrics, PICU, Mother-Baby (babies only)
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required
