Our mission at Southwest Human Development is to fortify the essential foundation that Arizona's children need for a promising start in life. At Southwest Human Development, we understand that the first five years of life are crucial for a child's development. Our services are designed to enhance lives by supporting young children and their caregivers during this pivotal period. In collaboration with families, we provide the care, attention, and support necessary to set children on a path to success in school and life, helping them achieve their fullest potential.

As Arizona's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to early childhood development, our 900 staff members deliver 40 programs and services annually to 140,000 children, families, and professionals. Our areas of focus include Child Development and Mental Health, Easterseals Disabilities Services, Early Literacy, Head Start and Early Head Start, Family Support and Child Welfare, as well as Professional Development and Training.
