<strong>Description</strong><br><p><b>Summary:</b></p><p>The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. The Registered Nurse (RN) administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. The Registered Nurse (RN) observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress. </p> <p>The Registered Nurse (RN) participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, a team member or team leader in the planning and implementing of patient care. The Registered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offers leadership and direction to all support staff within department.</p><p>The Christus Spohn Cancer Center (CSCC) offers a full range of advanced treatment options. Our Medical Oncology team consists of two physicians and three advanced practitioners who are over both inpatient and outpatient services in multiple locations throughout the Christus Spohn System. Each of the Medical Oncologists typically carries a patient load of 25 patients per day in clinic, and the infusion/chemotherapy department performs services for approximately 45 patients per day at our main location, and nearly 20 patients per day at our second location. Radiation Oncology includes two locations that offer the services of external beam radiation, Tomotherapy, and CyberKnife. The laboratory provides a full range of hematology and metabolic services. We also offer a Palliative Care consultation program, which has an active daily census of 15 - 20 patients per day. The CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and is the only regional cancer center to receive this honor. With three clinics located throughout the Coastal Bend, the CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center and its clinics are a place where oncologists and clinicians are passionate about their patients' care.</p><p>The CSCC Associates are known for their compassion and caring attitudes.
