Job Description: Night SSDU RN (Specialty Step Down Unit Registered Nurse)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night SSDU RN to join our healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where you will provide compassionate and high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric patients.

Shift Details:
- Schedule: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Start Date: September 2, 2025
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Location Requirement: Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent nursing care to step-down patients with a focus on long-term pulmonary conditions and surgical post-operative care.
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical skills to manage patient care, including the administration of blood products, management of cardiac drips, and airway management techniques.
- Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1 to ensure personalized care.
- Float to ICU and/or Med-Surg units as required.

Qualifications:
- Licensure: Valid NY RN license required at the time of submission.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of prior nursing experience in a similar specialty.
- Certifications: Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Charting Experience: Proficiency in the EPIC charting system is a hard requirement.
- Skills: Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, team collaboration with rapid response teams, and effective management of IV and central line care.

Unit Details:
- Daily patient census averages around 22, with 24 available beds.
- Interdisciplinary support services include IV therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy support.
- Patient diagnoses will primarily consist of long-term pulmonary patients and cases requiring step-down care after surgery.

Additional Information:
- Orientation for new staff will consist of 16 hours.
- Opportunities for pre-approved time off are available, as well as billable modules up to 5 hours pre-start related to job training.
