Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia.
Job Description Requirements

Now Hiring: Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic RN - Night Shift
Specialty: MS/Ortho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
Position Overview:
Join a high-volume orthopedic floor specializing in post-op care for scheduled joint, spine, and general surgical patients. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with strong med-surg and orthopedic skills looking for a rewarding night shift contract.
Assignment Details:
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Weekend Shifts: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Charting: Epic (Required)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Patient Diagnoses Include:
- Scheduled ortho surgeries: hip, knee, shoulder, ankle
- Ortho spine surgeries and fracture repairs
- Bone and soft tissue infections
- General surgeries: cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colon resections, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, prostatectomy w/ CBI
- Comorbidities: Acute Renal Failure (ARF), dialysis, diabetes management
Special Equipment Used:
- IV Pumps
- Bladder Scanners
- Hemovacs
- External Fixators
Requirements:
- EPIC charting experience (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Ortho or Med-Surg experience
- BCLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Strong skills in post-op care, patient education, and surgical recovery protocols
