Float position staffed every 4 hours May be pulled to ED and ED Observation only Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant Emergency Department experience required Patient Ratio: 1:5, may increase depending on case load

Certification/Licensure Required: ACLS - Required BLS - Required Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing - Required Preferred/Nice-to-Have Certifications: TNCC ENPC or PALS NIHSS

Shift Hours: 07:00 PM - 0730 AM; 36 hours, open to 48 hours

Duties:
Job Summary:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Skills:
Required Skills Experience:
-Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
-Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
-Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Education:
Required Education:
-Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education:
-Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certification Licensure:
-Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
