Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care for patients experiencing low to high-risk pregnancies, including VBACs, primary cesareans, and repeat cesareans. The ideal candidate will work in a hospital setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and labor management.
- Administer medications and monitor patient status, including pain management and labor progression.
- Support and educate patients regarding breastfeeding, postpartum care, and newborn assessments.
- Perform essential nursing procedures such as sterile vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, and cesarean sections when necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and social services, to provide holistic patient care.
- Float to mother-baby units as needed, maintaining a focus on maternal and neonatal health.

Experience Qualifications:
- Current, valid nursing license in New Jersey or a Compact state.
- Certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP required; AWHONN (Advanced, Intermediate, or Beginner) preferred.
- Experience with electronic charting systems such as EPIC and Centricity is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient diagnoses related to labor and delivery, including preeclampsia and gestational diabetes.

Additional Requirements:
- Candidates should be comfortable floating within their skill set and managing varying patient acuity.
- Every third weekend availability is required.
- Candidates must have completed a background check with no open or active hits.

Orientation: 24 hours of orientation will be provided before the start of the contract.
