Shift: 19:00 - 07:00
Location: Danville, VA

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team in a well-established, 250-bed Academic Community Hospital. Positioned in a vibrant community, this facility has been serving the region for over 120 years and is recognized as the regions only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population across all ages.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to manage patient care and facilitate a positive patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, including participation in quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and maintain accurate patient records utilizing Meditech.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, upholding infection control standards.

Unit Information:
- Facility Department: 5A Medical-Surgical Unit
- Number of Beds: 24 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Call Requirements: As needed
- EHR: Meditech

Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical setting; 2+ years preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, NIH (HWC available on-site)
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care

Physical Demands:
The Registered Nurse must be able to perform physical tasks related to patient care, including lifting and moving patients, and standing for extended periods.

Additional Notes:
Orientation is conducted bi-weekly on Tuesdays. Weekend hours will be required every other week or as needed.
