Job Description: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Start Date: 09/15/25 or ASAP
Average Daily Census: 130
Number of Beds: 47
Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 4 patients
Patient Population: All age ranges from infants to geriatrics in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to join our team. This position requires a strong clinical skill set, preferably with 2 years of experience, though candidates with less experience and robust skills will be considered. The ED treats a diverse range of diagnoses and requires a professional committed to providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency department.
- Administer medications and perform procedures as needed.
- Monitor vital signs and provide continuous nursing assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in triaging patients and managing urgent situations effectively.
- Document patient care accurately using the Epic charting system.
- Float to different areas within the specialty as required.

Required Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Qualifications:
- Previous charge experience preferred.
- Strong skills in emergency care practices, including IV administration, EKG interpretation, and blood product administration.
- Ability to manage patients with various medical and psychiatric conditions.

Work Environment:
- Interdisciplinary support available from Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams.
- Exposure to diverse patient diagnoses and special procedures, including trauma management and infectious diseases.

Scheduling Details:
- Weekends: Every other weekend required.
- Holidays: Required as they fall.
- Orientation: 36 hours.
