Mentor Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, believes children belong in the family home whenever it is safe and possible. As a Parent Partner for California MENTOR Family Support Services, a member of the Sevita family, youll provide guidance to individuals through your prior personal experience as a parent or guardian of a child whos been involved in the care system. Youll work alongside a dedicated team of clinical staff and supportive supervisors, while you grow your career.

Annual Salary: $49,000 (Salary plus overtime)

Bilingual in Spanish required

Temporary to permanent position

Responsibilities:

• Guidance to parents/caregivers who have children being served through the system, sharing and relating your own prior experience
• Advocacy and liaison services between the families, children, clinician, treatment staff, community agencies, and services
• Participates as a member of the Child and Family Team (CFT), trainings, court review hearings, IEP, and other meetings and assists the parents/caregivers in bringing up and discussing difficult issues
• Lead or co-lead individual and parent counseling groups providing education, consultation, or other needed services
• Documentation and record-keeping
• Provide services in the home and community - Flexibility with schedule

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior personal experience as a parent or legal guardian of a child who has been involved with the system (DCFS, probation, Regional Center, Dept. of Mental Health or the like) required
• Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for a minimum of one year
• Two years of experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred
• Valid driver license for 1 year minimum, reliable transportation with registration and insurance.
