Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Facility Unit Details:
- Department: CVICU
- Unit Beds: 18
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Support Staff: No CNAs on unit
- Charge Nurse: Present each shift; may take assignment
- Critical Care Coverage: In-house intensivist and hospitalist 24/7
- RT Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow - RNs expected to manage and troubleshoot
- Telemetry Monitoring:
- No monitor techs
- RNs must read and interpret their own strips
Patient Population Case Types:
- Patient Types:
- Open heart
- Complex thoracic and vascular
- Cardiac surgeries
- Lytic cases
- Carotids, TCARs
- Fempop, EVARs, Endo AAAs
- Support Equipment: Impella, IABP, CRRT, ECMO
- Sources of Patients: Cath lab, structural heart program, EP lab, ER, clinic
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year CVICU experience with this specific patient population
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (Stroke Scale)
Medications Drips:
- RNs must titrate drips
- Common Drips:
- Vasopressors
- Paralytics
- Narcotics
- Sedation
- Antiarrhythmics
Scheduling Requirements:
- Scheduling: Created by manager
- Weekend Requirement: Every other
- Holiday Requirement: Every other or as needed
- Floating: May float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU
- Call/Standby: Not applicable
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
- Orientation: 2 unit-specific 12-hour shifts
Compliance Radius Rules:
- Radius Rule:
- Must live outside 50 miles
- Not eligible if working full-time, part-time, or PRN at CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health
- Driver's License: Required at submission to verify address
- RTO Policy:
- Maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract (must be declared upfront)
- No additional RTO approved post-submission
- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract
- 3 shifts for contracts less than 13 weeks
