Job Description: ER Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in an emergency department setting, capable of handling a high acuity patient population. The ER RN will work in a fast-paced environment, providing crucial care to patients across a wide age range, from neonates to geriatrics.

Shift Schedule:
- 3x12-Hour Shifts: Either 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Rotation includes every other weekend
- Must be flexible to float to other areas as needed based on census demands

Core Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency room, managing both adult and pediatric cases.
- Administer medications, including IV vasopressors and emergency medications.
- Oversee blood product administration and central line care.
- Conduct phlebotomy and initiate IV therapy as required.
- Perform procedural sedation and manage continuous IV sedation and paralytics.
- Interpret dysrhythmias and effectively manage patients experiencing multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.
- Maintain compliance with isolation precautions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of ER nursing experience.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
- Experience with Epic charting preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with minimal restrictions on time off (RTO).
- Must hold a valid New York RN license.

Patient Care Details:
- Average daily census: 64 patients
- Approximately 145 patient visits per day
- Patient ratios maintained at 1:5 with mixed acuity levels

Education Skills Required:
- Experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Skills in blood product management and emergency medications.
- Proficient in initiating IVs and performing phlebotomy.
- Knowledgeable in CVA management and isolation precautions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
