Job Description: Night Shift Telemetry Nurse - Observation Unit

Location: Asheville, NC
Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Unit: K9-B Observation Unit
Number of Beds: 20
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 HUC

Patient Ratios:
- Day Shift: 1:5 (Stretch 1:6)
- Night Shift: 1:6 (Stretch 1:7)

Description:
Join our dedicated team as a Night Shift Telemetry Nurse in the Observation Unit, where you will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and Foley insertion, among other nursing tasks. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications:
Required Certifications:
- Current BLS Certification
- Telemetry Certification

Preferred Qualifications:
- Med-Surge Certification

Skills and Personality Traits:
- Outgoing, team player, and enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.

Typical Equipment Used:
- Telemetry monitoring systems
- Baxter pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner/Power Chart

Work Schedule:
- Every other weekend required.

Dress Code:
- Scrub Color/Attire: All navy, all white, or white top with navy bottoms.

Floating Areas:
- May float to other med-surg levels of care including A3 West Med-Surg, A4 West Trauma, A4 East Renal, A5 West Adult Medicine, A6 West Neuro, J6 Ortho, A7 West, K6 Spine, K8 General Surgery.
