Job Title: Registered Nurse - MICU/CCU

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). In this pivotal role, you will provide high-quality nursing care, evaluate patient conditions, and collaborate with physicians to enhance patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient conditions and assist physicians with patient care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patients needs.
- Identify patient needs and prioritize care through thorough assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Conduct assessments based on patients problems or needs, physicians medical diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care for critically ill patients.
- Document nursing care in accordance with established standards and patient acuity.
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and support the adoption of innovative care methods.
- Provide patient-centric care aligned with professional nursing practices.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Schedule Details:
- Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts), every other weekend required or as needed.
- Holidays may be required based on unit needs, with consideration for work-life balance.
- On-call requirement: No on-call; floating to similar intensive care units required.

Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of strong Med ICU or ICU experience required.
- Experience with central lines, ventilators, and cardiac telemetry.

- Education:
- Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

- Certifications:
- Required: BLS, ACLS, Telemetry certification, NIHSS certification, and NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- CCRN certification preferred.

- Skills:
- Competence in managing high acuity patients including mechanical ventilation and complex intravenous therapies.
- Strong knowledge of sedation, spontaneous breathing trials, and the management of central lines and arterial lines.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and collect arterial blood gas specimens.
- Familiarity with CRRT, balloon pumps, and Impella devices is preferred.
