Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN/LPN) - Medical Surgical

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 | Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 | Contract Length: 84 Weeks

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess experience with Cerner, IV competencies, and a passion for patient care. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment.
- Monitor patient progress and vital signs while adjusting care plans as needed.
- Administer medications and perform treatments per physician orders.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Health Records (EHR), specifically Cerner.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:
- Valid NC or compact nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical/surgical setting.
- Competence in IV therapy and a strong understanding of common diagnoses such as COPD exacerbations, GI bleeds, diabetic complications, and more.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in charge nursing roles.
- Familiarity with various medical equipment, including Baxter IV pumps and PCA pumps.
- Strong patient advocacy skills and the ability to thrive in a busy, challenging environment.

Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 18
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, PCA pumps
- Supervisor Oversight: Involvement with a leadership team focused on patient care excellence.

Dress Code: Scrubs (Color: Any)
