Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (LD RN) to join our Women and Childrens Unit within a dynamic healthcare facility in Berlin, Vermont. This unit specializes in Labor and Delivery, Newborn, Postpartum, and LDRP care, accommodating approximately 300 deliveries each year.

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in active labor, postpartum, and newborn stages.
- Manage LDRP cases independently, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of labor and delivery processes and protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and monitor the progress of patients, particularly those on Pitocin or actively in labor, adhering to a nurse-patient ratio of 1:1 for active labor and 2 or 3 couplets based on census and acuity.
- Participate in resuscitation efforts for newborns and administer medications post-delivery under established protocols.
- Care for patients during possible Med/Surg overflow cases as needed.
- Engage in patient education, ensuring parents are informed about their care and any necessary follow-up actions post-delivery.

Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Labor and Delivery with LDRP experience required.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are mandatory. ACLS and PALS (or PEARS) certifications are preferred.
- Experience with Epic documentation systems within the last two years is non-negotiable.
- Ability to independently perform nursing duties in a community hospital setting without NICU resources.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to fluctuating unit needs.

Additional Information:
- Orientation typically consists of 3 days.
- Scrubs will be provided in light blue; closed-toe footwear is required, and jewelry must be minimal.
- Patient care modalities include LDRP with some ability to handle Med/Surg overflow.
