SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated Registered CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT and X-ray exams, Screening CT exams, and interventional CT procedures in line with established techniques and standards set by Radiologists and governing bodies. You will ensure accurate documentation for each exam, enabling quality diagnostic interpretation and appropriate billing. Routine communication with Radiologists and department leadership is essential to maintain exceptional patient care and meet provider needs. You will operate CT scanners and radiographic equipment, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards established by the NYS Department of Health and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

STATUS: Full-time, Weekends
LOCATION: Massena Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Imaging
SCHEDULE: 8-hour variable shift, Mon-Fri
ATTRIBUTES
Required: Graduation from an AMA approved program in Radiological Technology.
Required: Current New York State licensure or permit to practice as a Radiological Technologist.
Required: Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, basic computer science knowledge, and the ability to assess CT unit functions.
Preferred: Over 2 years of radiology experience in a hospital environment.
Preferred: At least 1 year of CT experience in a hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Examine charts, prescriptions, and radiology requests to confirm valid physician orders for diagnostic CT procedures.
Gather relevant clinical information and adhere to special physician requests.
Prepare contrast media in accordance with physician orders or departmental policy.
Ensure accurate patient identification before performing procedures.
Initiate life support measures for patients as needed.
Assist with moving and immobilizing patients as necessary.
Under the guidance of a radiologist, perform diagnostic CT procedures at a technical level.
Identify disease abnormalities and physiological processes during CT scans, taking the initiative to obtain additional views or scans for maximum diagnostic clarity.
Select appropriate technical factors and imaging modes tailored to each patient.
Practice aseptic technique diligently.
Administer or inject intravenous contrast media according to physician's orders, limited to the insertion of a needle or catheter as specified.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds repeatedly, and/or lifting up to 10 pounds constantly; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

PAY RANGE:
$31.80 - $42.99
The listed pay range represents the potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant, subject to modification. Pay is influenced by experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual obligations.
