Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor Delivery / OB/GYN

Position Overview:
Join our dynamic nursing team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor Delivery (L/D) and OB/GYN care. We are currently seeking dedicated RNs with experience in L/D to provide top-notch care while ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts and includes potential overflow into postpartum and medical/surgical care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care to laboring women and their neonates in a fast-paced L/D environment.
- Monitor the fetal heart rate and maternal well-being using established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in the delivery process and participate in newborn care, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Float to postpartum care as necessary during low census periods, ensuring comprehensive support to mothers post-delivery.
- Maintain accurate patient records utilizing GE Centricity/Meditech electronic health records.

Qualifications:
- Current RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor Delivery.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Completion of a fetal monitoring course within the last two years.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Must be a team player with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize care effectively.

Working Conditions:
- 36 hours per week guaranteed.
- Rotating weekend responsibilities every other weekend.
- Minimal call requirements, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic.

Additional Unit Information:
- 6 L/D beds plus 1 triage/room; postpartum unit has 12 beds.
- Patient ratios align with AWHONN standards; typically maintained at 3-4:1 in postpartum.
- Operate in an environment that emphasizes patient safety and quality outcomes.

Location:
This position is located in a healthcare facility in Wilson, NC, conveniently situated 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC, and a short drive from major universities and the beautiful coast of North Carolina.
