SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse, your nursing experience and leadership abilities allow you to develop and implement quality care plans for patients, while acting as a mentor to others on the unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.

• Planning Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family.

• Evaluation Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities.

• Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse License in State of New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

• Associates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.

• Bachelors degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred.

• 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred.

• Strong communication skills.

BS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
