Responsibilities

Operate extra-corporeal circulation equipment during procedures requiring artificial support or the temporary replacement of circulatory or respiratory functions.

• Prepare for procedures by performing patient assessment.
• Perform perfusion and other procedures including the monitoring of the patients anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base and blood-gas status throughout procedures and take appropriate action to resolve imbalances.
• Perform assembly, maintenance, cleaning and calibration of equipment and maintains adequate supplies.
• Provide proper documentation of assessments, activities, and procedures.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Perfusionist credentialed from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) obtained prio to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
  degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

Must have at least 3 years of experience.

Call includes ECMO coverage.
