We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team for the night shift. The PCU provides intermediate-level care to patients who require close monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to PCU patients based on the nursing process.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with healthcare procedures and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Minimum of 2+year of acute care or PCU/step-down experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
