Job Description: Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse to join our team for a 13-week travel assignment. This is a day shift position, requiring 4 x 10-hour workdays from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the Cath Lab and be proficient in scrubbing for all procedures, not limited to diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub and monitor during a variety of Cath Lab procedures, including but not limited to:
- Balloon Angioplasty
- PCI
- Stenting
- Thrombectomy
- Impella insertion
- Left Right Heart Catheterization
- Rotablader procedures
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assist in patient preparation and recovery, including monitoring vital signs and responding to any patient needs.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols during procedures.
- Conduct EKG rhythm interpretation as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Ability to scrub for all procedures (not just diagnostics).
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS.
- Experience in advanced Cath Lab procedures like complex PCI, Watchman procedures, and TAVR is preferred.
- Proficient in Epic charting system.

Work Schedule:
- 40 hours per week.
- Call requirement: One day a week, and one weekend call every four weeks (schedule may fluctuate based on absenteeism).

Special Procedures Technologies:
- Familiarity with complex procedures such as:
- Laser atherectomy
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- PFO/ASD closures
- EKOS devices
- Prior experience with Impella and IABP management is highly regarded.

Floating Requirements:
- May require floating to the electrophysiology (EP) unit; however, this is infrequent.

Candidate Requirements:
- Must be comfortable floating if necessary, with no restrictions.
- Must possess an active, unrestricted RN license (NC or Compact license is acceptable).
- Will need to pass EKG testing before start date.
