Cardiac Telemetry is a critical care unit for patients requiring continuous heart monitoring, including both chronic and acute cardiac and/or medical conditions. The units most common types of patients are those with CHF, heart arrhythmias, chest pain, myocardial infarction, post pacemaker insertion, post cardioversion as well as patients who have experienced syncopal episodes, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and electrolyte abnormalities. The unit also cares for patients with chronic conditions such as COPD, CAD, diabetes, hypertension, and those on hemodialysis. Occasionally the unit will monitor pre- and post-surgical patients.

• On-site central monitor station to oversee telemetry rhythms as well monitors at each nurses station
• 32 bed unit with all private rooms
• RN ratio of 4-5 patients with tech support
• Close working relationship with cardiologist and hospitalists
• Daily Discharge Huddles with our Care Management Team
• Critical Care Fellowship with both in-class and in-department orientation
• Numerous continuing education opportunities

Qualifications:

Education:Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN
