Established in 1975 as Valley Community Hospital, Valley Regional Medical Center has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Brownsville, TX, and the surrounding Rio Grande Valley. Our facility is a comprehensive 214-bed acute-care hospital featuring a Level III Trauma Center and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We are also certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.

Valley Regional Medical Center stands out as the only accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI in Cameron County and hosts the sole accredited Cardiac Catheterization Lab with PCI in Brownsville. Additionally, we are proud to be the only Breast Imaging Center of Excellence south of San Antonio.
