Established in 1950 by Variety Clubs International, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital stands as South Florida’s sole licensed specialty hospital dedicated exclusively to children. With a team of approximately 800 attending physicians, including over 500 pediatric subspecialists, the hospital offers unparalleled expertise in pediatric medicine. Formerly known as Miami Children’s Hospital from 1983 to 2014, it has consistently been recognized for its excellence, with numerous specialty programs ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report since 2008.

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is also home to the largest pediatric teaching program in the southeastern United States and has been an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet facility since 2003, a testament to its nursing excellence. The hospital's network extends through more than a dozen outpatient centers from Martin County to southern Miami-Dade County, providing comprehensive pediatric healthcare services such as urgent care, rehabilitation, and subspecialty appointments for children up to age 21.

Nicklaus Children's Health System, the parent organization of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, encompasses a nonprofit hospital foundation, a network of outpatient and urgent care centers across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin counties, a nonprofit physician practice subsidiary, and an ambulatory surgery center. As the region’s only healthcare system exclusively for children, our vision is to foster a healthy future for every child by being a steadfast partner throughout their health journey.
