About

MGA was founded by Dr. Wade Erickson and Dr. Tom Grissom, two esteemed local physicians, with the vision of addressing the evolving healthcare needs of our community. Their goal was to create a comprehensive, one-stop service that would save time, reduce travel, and ensure continuity of care. This vision took shape in 2012 and, after extensive discussions with industry leaders, became a reality in August 2016.

Under the leadership of CEO Billy Houck, a collaborative team from partnering companies developed an infrastructure that established economies of scale, helping to manage costs and retain more services within Alaska. Today, MGA comprises five divisions: Algone Interventional Pain and Regenerative Medicine, Capstone Family Medicine, Capstone Urgent Care, Empower Physical Therapy, and Our Doctor’s Pharmacy. We proudly serve multiple locations across Wasilla, Palmer, Eagle River, and Anchorage.

Our mission is to meet the healthcare needs of Alaskans by overcoming challenges such as geographical limitations and technological gaps. We continuously seek ways to enhance patient care through innovations like patient portals, telemedicine, apps, modern facilities, specialists, and expanded service lines. By investing in local resources, we aim to foster growth within the communities we serve.
