About

Since its establishment in 1867, Kern Medical has been a vital part of the community. As an acute care teaching center with 222 beds, we provide the only advanced trauma care between Fresno and Los Angeles. Each year, over 200 residents, fellows, and medical students join our UCLA-affiliated training programs, with residencies in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, and Pharmacy. Many physicians trained here choose to continue serving the community.

We are dedicated to educating clinical pharmacists, nursing students, respiratory therapists, lab technicians, and allied health professionals. Our services span primary, specialty, and multi-specialty care, including high-risk pregnancy management and inpatient psychiatric services integrated with county mental health programs. Our expanding network of outpatient clinics offers personalized patient-centered wellness care.
