As pioneers in minimally invasive surgery, Holy Cross Hospital was the first in Montgomery County to introduce robotic surgery with the da Vinci surgical system in 2008. In 2017, Holy Cross Germantown Hospital became the first community hospital in the county to adopt the advanced da Vinci Xi robotic surgical technology. We are also leaders in caring for vulnerable populations, having established the nation's first Seniors Emergency Center at Holy Cross Hospital, now a national model.

Furthermore, Holy Cross Health is unique in Montgomery County for operating its own health centers to provide affordable healthcare to those in financial need, facilitating over 57,000 patient visits annually. Our leadership extends to cardiac rhythm management as well; Holy Cross Hospital was the first community hospital in Maryland to treat a patient with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), implant a biventricular pacemaker outside a research setting, and offer the world's smallest pacemaker for patients with bradycardia.
