Our journey began in 1891 when Margaret Jane Merewether Power, moved by the lack of local healthcare facilities after witnessing a child's accident, rallied her community to establish what would become Mountainside Medical Center. Starting from a three-story cottage purchased from Eliza Sheridan, with Dr. John J.H. Love as the first President of the Medical and Surgical Staff, we embarked on our mission of caring for the sick and injured—a mission that continues nearly 130 years later.

Today, with 365 beds and 820,000 square feet of space, we remain steadfast in our commitment to compassion and community service. As part of Hackensack Meridian Health, we proudly provide world-class healthcare in a community setting.
