As a proud member of the Global Medical Response family, we are dedicated to our mission of delivering immediate care worldwide. With over 38,000 employees, our teams provide compassionate and high-quality medical services, focusing on emergency and patient relocation across the United States, the District of Columbia, and internationally.

Global Medical Response was established by uniting leaders in air, ground, and managed medical transportation, as well as community, industrial, specialty, and wildland fire services. Our companies—American Medical Response (AMR), Rural Metro Fire, Air Evac Lifeteam, REACH Air Medical Services, Med-Trans Corporation, AirMed International, and Guardian Flight—each have a rich history of serving their communities with pride.

Our extensive national reach and experience enable us to offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to community needs. From managing entire emergency medical systems to forming private-public partnerships, we strive to meet diverse requirements effectively.

In our commitment to public safety education, AMR has embraced the national Stop the Bleed campaign, dedicating resources to train citizens in life-saving measures during traumatic events. Additionally, our teams have trained over 350,000 individuals in compression-only CPR, significantly improving survival rates for sudden cardiac arrest victims.

AMR was founded in response to evolving healthcare reimbursement models, technological advancements, and the growth of managed care plans. This led to the creation of a robust provider network. In 2006, AMR acquired Air Ambulance Specialists (AASI), later rebranded as AMR Air Ambulance (AMR Air), offering comprehensive domestic and international fixed-wing air ambulance services.

The acquisition of Rural Metro and Rural Metro Fire in 2015 expanded our capabilities to include commercial and industrial fire safety services. In early 2018, our former parent company Envision Healthcare sold AMR to KKR. By March 2018, AMR became part of Global Medical Response—the world's largest medical transportation company.
