Department/Unit Summary

The Behavioral Health Unit at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. The BHU unit is an Adult Psych Unit Geri Psych Unit. A multimillion-dollar renovation has been completed. This renovation improved the esthetic of the unit as well as bringing ligature points and safety up to the latest standards.

How youll contribute

Each team of nurses are very supportive and work in collaboration with three Psychiatrists on staff and one medical director who is onsite 8 days a month and works telehealth.

Youll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills to directly impact patient wellbeing.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional requirements include:

• One (1) year experience in a behavioral health care setting preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within three months from date of hire.
• Trained in Handle with Care upon hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Department/Unit Summary

• Adult psych unit age 18 and up - 22 beds - have an additional 8 beds as overflow unit
• Geri Psych unit age 65 and over
