Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Rochelle Park, New Jersey.

Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Job Overview:
Select Medical is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift travel assignment. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality patient care while promoting a culture of safety and supporting a multidisciplinary care team. The RN will supervise LPNs, CNAs, and orientees, and actively participate in patient rehabilitation and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Educate patients and families throughout care, beginning at admission
- Initiate and coordinate discharge planning
- Communicate status changes effectively with team members
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies
- Participate in unit team-building and quality improvement initiatives
Patient Population:
- General rehab and medical patients
- Common diagnoses: post-op, cardiac, trauma, neuro
- ICU-level patients may be present (1+ year ICU experience is highly preferred)
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- BLS (AHA) - Required prior to first shift
- ACLS (AHA) - Required prior to first shift (CIRH only)
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience
- 1+ year of ICU experience highly preferred
- Strong documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Commitment to safety, compassion, and teamwork
Additional Info:
- Charge responsibilities may be assigned after orientation
- Focus on safety: including lifting, infection control, falls, and environmental hazards
- Candidates must be resourceful and team-oriented
- Orientation and unit-specific training will be provided
