ChristianaCare is hiring a full time Access Coordinator for the Center for Medical Genomics in Newark, DE.
As an Access Coordinator you would provide patient and physician satisfaction through proactive administrative services and ensure a smooth coordination of the patients for genetic visits.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sign in and out to the contact center via Avaya at start and end of shift utilizing away from desk reasons.
Answer calls in a professional manner.
Review EMR scheduling pools and messages of patients needing to be scheduled with an expectation that they are worked within 24 hours.
Document all patient communication in PowerChart under Care Team Notes.
Schedule patients for appointments with Genetics (prenatal, cancer, cardiovascular, adult, neuro, autism)
Verify patients are scheduled with appropriate Genetic Counselor/Physician, correct time allotted and correct location in Revenue Cycle.
If any family member has had genetic testing, request a copy of the report.
Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-certifications for office visits
In Soarian complete the registration of patients, verifying insurance, demographics and all required fields in the allotted 15-minute time frame.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices
Performs other duties as required
Provide front desk coverage as needed.
Check patients in via Revenue Cycle and Soarian updating patient information as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma.
Two years experience in a medical setting or physicians office.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
