Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to work in a Level 2 trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center with a high volume of patients, serving a diverse community.

Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically for medical, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Staffing Description: Techs and Unit Clerks available, collaborating in triage and patient processing
- Equipment Used: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care
- Maintain clear communication with patients and their families
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in required training and development initiatives

Qualifications:
- Education: Current nursing license
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an RN, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting; experience in a Level 2 trauma center and high-volume ED preferred
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
- Skills: Teamwork mentality, flexibility to work in all areas of the ED, ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

Schedule Requirements:
- Must be available to work every other weekend
- Flexible scheduling in accordance with department needs

Patient Experience Requirements:
- Adhere to AIDET principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)
- Uphold respectful behavior towards patients and team members
- Regularly update patient boards with pertinent information throughout their visit

Dress Code:
- Navy scrubs
