Job Title: MedSurg RN (Nights, 3x12-Hour Shift)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MedSurg Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a night shift position. This contract role involves working three 12-hour shifts per week (from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), including both weekdays and weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing, possess at least 2 years of experience, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to acute medical-surgical patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Monitor patients vital signs and assessments, manage medications, and perform nursing interventions as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation using Cerner EMR.
- Assist with various medical procedures as assigned, including care for post-operative patients and managing complex medical conditions.

Qualifications:
- Current RN License (West Virginia or Compact State).
- BCLS, NIH, and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg nursing experience.
- Experience with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-7.
- Capable of effectively managing patients with diverse medical conditions including bariatric surgery, colostomy care, and post-MI care.
- Previous charge nurse experience is a plus.

Unit Information:
- 34-bed medical-surgical unit with a daily census of 25-30 patients.
- Support from interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
- Focus on teamwork, compassion, and evidence-based practices to provide excellent patient care.

Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (consideration may be given on a case-by-case basis for distances between 75 to 100 miles).
- Strong attendance is expected; the facility has a strict attendance policy.
- Completion of onboarding modules before the start date.
