Department Summary:
From pioneering a world-renowned fetal cardiology program to achieving the earliest successful fetal cardiac intervention in 2001, the Fetal Care and Surgery Center has been at the forefront of prenatal intervention and treatment for more than two decades. Today, we are the most comprehensive fetal intervention center in the Northeast, supported by more than 25 specialties across Boston Childrens to provide a full spectrum of diagnostics, research, and management for confirmed or suspected congenital anomalies.

Our extensive experience in fetal care has shown that the sooner we can accurately diagnose a fetal anomaly, the better the chances of survival and a higher quality of life. Thats why, in addition to our focus on diagnosing, treating, and caring for pregnancies with high-risk fetal conditions, were equally committed to cutting-edge research to enhance fetal and newborn medicine.

Our multidisciplinary approach means that youll receive a comprehensive care plan built around constant communication with you and your primary obstetrics team and access to a range of diagnostics, interventions and therapies, genetic testing and counseling, and other services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing and coordinating care for pregnant women carrying a fetus with a congenital anomaly
• Intake and coordination of all fetal consults into the program
• Facilitation of diagnostic studies, and counseling and education of parents in consultation with various BCH pediatric specialists and referring obstetricians
• Support in the perioperative setting for fetal intervention patients: Providing labor/delivery/postpartum expertise to fetal intervention patients undergoing fetal surgery. Providing postpartum specific care to select DPH approved deliveries.
• Per Diem, 10 hour shifts, Monday- Friday

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of Obstetric, Labor Delivery/Postpartum experience required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated learning
• Ability to prioritize work and manage a dynamic environment

Licensure/Certifications:

• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
