MedAdventures is seeking a local contract Physical Therapy Assistant for a local contract job in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Description Requirements

Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a physical therapist, primarily focusing on implementing treatment plans for complex patients with critical illnesses or severe injuries within a Medical facility, which often includes specialized interventions like intensive gait training, balance exercises, and functional mobility training to help patients regain independence and optimize their quality of life; their responsibilities include directly assisting patients with exercises, utilizing assistive devices, monitoring progress, and communicating findings to the physical therapist. Key responsibilities may include:Implementing treatment plans: . Carrying out individualized treatment plans designed by the physical therapist, focusing on specific goals like strength training, range of motion exercises, pain management, and functional activities. Patient assessment: . Assisting with patient evaluations by taking measurements, recording progress, and observing patient movement patterns. Therapeutic interventions: . Providing hands-on interventions like manual stretching, muscle strengthening exercises, gait training, and balance exercises. Assistive device training: . Educating patients on the proper use of assistive devices like canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. Patient education: . Instructing patients on home exercise programs and self-management strategies to maintain their progress. Safety protocols: . Ensuring patient safety by utilizing proper body mechanics and guarding techniques during transfers and exercises. Collaboration with the team: . Communicating effectively with the physical therapist, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. . Specialization areas within Select Specialty Physical Therapy might include:Neurological rehabilitation: . Working with patients experiencing neurological conditions like stroke, spinal cord injury, or traumatic brain injury. Orthopedic rehabilitation: . Assisting patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries like joint replacements, fractures, or soft tissue injuries. Critical care rehabilitation: . Providing physical therapy interventions to critically ill patients in intensive care units. Geriatric rehabilitation: . Focusing on functional mobility and independence for older adults with age-related conditions. Required qualifications: . Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program . Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant . Experience working with complex patients in a critical care setting is often preferred
