Unit Name: Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit

Unit Leader/Point of Contact: Erica Bedell and Elizabeth Wojciechowski

Unit Specialty: Medical Surgical Telemetry and some Progressive Care

Position Details

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shifts: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Medical Surgical Telemetry is required.
• Progressive care experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (required prior to start).
• Prior travel experience is required.

Patient Care Information

Patient Population: The unit cares for a diverse patient population including medical surgical telemetry patients, orthopedics, urology, ENT, GYN, general surgery, as well as progressive care patients.

Patient Nurse Ratio: Generally, 1 nurse to 4 or 5 patients based on acuity.

Additional Unit Specific Information

• Facility operates as a Critical Access Hospital with a maximum unit census of 25 across 17 rooms.
• The unit includes 4 private rooms, including one designated for end-of-life care and 3 isolation rooms.
• The unit practices a supportive team culture with 24/7 hospitalist coverage.
• House supervisors are available when unit managers are off duty.
• Lab and x-ray support are available 24/7.
