Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospitals mission and vision statement.

Registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

As Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab Nurse, you are responsible and accountable for the delivery of individualized nursing care to adult patients having cardiac catheterization procedures as well as care for patients having specialized radiology procedures. This includes both the prep and recovery of these patients.

• You will monitor, record, and manage baseline vitals and changes in patient conditions pre, during and post procedure.
• You will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.

• You will record patients medical information and vital signs and any other patient care.

• You will modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions.

• You will prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.

• You will administer moderate sedation under supervision and orders of the physician.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• At least 2 years of experience in Critical Care REQUIRED! ICU, ER
• Additional courses in physiology and hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation
