Job Description: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The Emergency Department operates with a focus on teamwork and efficiency, catering to patients of all ages and a wide range of medical needs.

Position Details:
- Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and some holidays
- Call Requirements: None
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Unit Profile:
- Number of Beds: 21 (including 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms)
- Supervisor: ED Nurse Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients experiencing medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory cases.
- Conduct assessments, implement clinical interventions, and educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatments.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care and safety.
- Utilize advanced equipment and technology to monitor patients and administer medications and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using the Cerner electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications:
- Current RN license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB), PALS.
- Strong clinical skills in trauma and resuscitation, IV management, and telemetry monitoring.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Emergency Medicine and Psych ER is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective multi-tasking abilities.

Preferred Education:
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
