- Perform all routine echocardiograms independently for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease (inpatient and outpatient).
- Learn to perform Stress Echocardiograms and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms under a mentor, and work toward performing these independently.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, and ultrasound principles.
- Exercise independent judgment during exams to determine the need for additional imaging, enhancements, or bubble studies.

- Perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasounds (echocardiograms).
- Produce cardiac images to assess hemodynamics and function, with digital acquisition and accurate measurements.
- Ensure patient safety by following all procedure protocols and policies.
- Continue developing technical skills and proficiency as a sonographer, expanding knowledge of advanced procedures and techniques.
