Our History
How Vibra Travels became a leader in clinical travel

The Idea:
Vibra Travels started in 2021 with the idea to staff Vibra Healthcare’s hospitals, primarily during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, Vibra Healthcare hospitals, like many throughout the nation, were faced with staffing challenges.

Vibra Healthcare’s CEO, Brad Hollinger, challenged Wayne Mackey to develop an in-house clinical travel agency to relieve these staffing challenges. Wayne ran down the hallway and got to work on assembling a team.

“It started by hiring an outstanding team of clinicians, recruiters, and administrative staff to find the best talent to staff our hospitals,” said Wayne.

The Expansion:
After hiring and placing over 250 clinicians in the Vibra Healthcare system, the Vibra Travels team began to look at other ways to apply their talents and unique knowledge. The natural question became “Can we go beyond the borders of Vibra Healthcare and serve other clients?”

In June 2022, Vibra Travels began serving external clients, first taking on multiple nationwide clients in the critical care and rehabilitation hospital space. “’We do what you do’ has been our claim,” Wayne noted, conveying the special understanding the Vibra Travels team has at finding the right clinician for these post-acute placements.

“We have the policies and procedures and histories and know what clinicians need to be trained on to be successful in these settings.”

Since then, Vibra Travels has continued to expand, placing clinicians in both short-term acute care and behavioral health settings.
