Parrish Medical Center (PMC), a Parrish Healthcare integrated care partner, has been in continuous operation in the North Brevard area of Florida’s Space Coast since 1958 and has been designated by NASA as an official medical receiving facility. First opened as North Brevard Hospital with 28 patient beds, the facility was expanded to include 96 beds in 1966, renovated in 1981 and replaced with an $80 million, 371,000-square-foot facility in November 2002.
PMC is named for the Parrish family of North Brevard who first donated land for a community hospital in the 1930s and made another major land gift in 1963.
Today, PMC is an award-winning, nationally recognized 210-bed, five story, not-for-profit, public, hospital serving the entire North Brevard community with an array of wellness and healthcare services. No local taxes have been levied to support the hospital's mission since 1994.
