Cancer treatment was quite different in the 1980s. Patients had to travel miles from home to access quality care. A handful of oncology physicians based in Fort Myers believed in the power of providing comprehensive cancer care in community settings. They set out to establish smaller clinics where patients could access all they needed from skilled and caring professionals in a convenient location close to home. Gradually, with great forethought and continuous strategic investments, that footprint expanded across Florida. A pivotal decision to open a clinical research program set the stage for advancing science and new discoveries on a global scale to provide patients with the most personalized, advanced treatments available.
