Founded in 1959 as a modest community hospital with just 35 beds, 8 physicians, and 25 nurses, Shelby Baptist Medical Center has evolved significantly over the past six decades. Originally, patients would ring a doorbell for emergency care, but today, we stand as a state-of-the-art facility in Alabaster, boasting 252 beds. Our growth has allowed us to provide high-quality, compassionate care locally, eliminating the need for travel to downtown Birmingham.
