Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo is a 40-bed, all private room, long-term acute hospital (LTACH) providing care for medically complex patients that require an extended hospital stay of approximately 20 to 30 days. Our patients are medically complex and may require some or all of the following: daily physician visits, critical care ACLS trained nurses & respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, discharge planners, dialysis, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Advanced Specialty Hospital provides care for a variety of acute or chronic respiratory conditions including; pulmonary patients that were not able to wean off the ventilator during the acute care hospitalization. Our ventilator weaning protocols have demonstrated the ability of weaning patients off of the ventilators at a rate better than the national average. Our team includes: physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, wound care nurses, state tested nursing assistants, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, discharge planners, dialysis nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists who are experienced and trained to care for medically complex patients.
